An In-Depth Look at Our Artificial Putting Green Construction Process

Crafting a professional-grade golf putting green requires more than just high-quality turf; it demands a sophisticated construction methodology. Our five-layer system is engineered to deliver performance, feel, and durability that rivals or surpasses that of a natural green.

1. Turf Layer
Utilizing premium synthetic fibers specifically designed to mimic the softness, blade texture, density, and lush color of real bentgrass. The turf is manufactured to provide authentic tour-level ball roll speed and accuracy. Integrated perforations allow for immediate drainage, preventing water accumulation and ensuring the green is always ready for play.

2. Sand Infill Layer
Two specially graded silica sands are mechanically brushed into the turf pile. This process is vital for supporting the fibers, adding firmness to the surface, and creating a consistent and natural ball impact feel. The sand infill also plays a key role in fine-tuning the green's speed.

3. Stabilizing Layer
A compacted mixture of sand and cement in a 10:1 ratio creates a solid, approximately 5cm thick sub-base. This layer permanently locks the undulations of the shaping layer in place, preventing settlement or erosion over time. Pre-drilled drainage holes within this layer ensure seamless integration with the overall subsurface drainage system.

4. Shaping Layer
This is where the soul of the green comes to life. Our skilled craftsmen use a special blend of non-binding shaping sand to sculpt every subtle break, slope, and contour according to the design. Expert shaping is what transforms a "good turf surface" into a "true putting green," offering strategic challenges and realistic ball roll behavior.

5. Base Reinforcement Layer
(For soil ground conditions) A foundation of approximately 3cm crushed rock provides a stable and unyielding platform. This layer prevents frost heave and ground settlement while offering superior subsurface drainage, guaranteeing the long-term structural integrity of the entire installation. This layer may be simplified when building over an existing concrete slab.
